GIGABYTE G1 Assassin Physical Review, listed on newegg now

an amazing board for sure..price is enough to make something pucker...late to the game for 1366 but looks like it might be the best motherboard ever built quality/features wise..
I really wonder how many they will sell at this price and with 1366 being near eol...
not to say i wouldnt want one but my budget would be the guerrilla model and even with that my wife and kids wouldnt be able to eat or drive their cars for a month..

i see you are running a DFI motherboard for 1366, how does it compare to gigabytes board? i never ran one from them but was tempted few times. i was always told they are finicky boards that take a lot of tweaking but once tweaked run great. has that been your experience with them?

The computer for the A-TEAM!

this Motherboard arrives today from New Egg.

One problem, I just spent a ton of time and money modifying a TJ10 Silverstone Case... I am only going to use (2) EVGA graphics cards for Dual SLI... but can this board mount and fit ok in a Silverstone TJ10? It is a big ass case, but I know XL-ATX is big also... sometimes I hear XL-ATX MB's fit in some cases. I'm not worried about slots cause Im only going to use 2 graphics cards...

Am I screwed or will it fit??

Also, I bought this memory: Is there something better, faster, or better for overclocking?

G.SKILL PI+ Turbulence 12GB (6 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL6T2-12GBPIS

The problem is that the Silverston TJ10 is not listed as supporting XL, but sometimes full tower ATX cases can still fit an XL motherboard, especially if you are only doing dual SLI (not 3 or 4 video cards).

Problem is that I cannot see the motherboard tray mounting limitation on the PJ10 case.

This guy says I'm screwed:

"120% certain.

And your motherboard is 10cm longer than that. "

Not all XL ATX boards are the same size:

This is the EVGA 4 way:

Length: 13.58" Width: 10.375"

Assassin G1 is 12" x 10.35" thats why I am not certain... EDIT: NM, New EGG must have listed the size wrong, see below.

Assassin is listed as 345 mm x 262 mm on another site... which is 13.58" x 10.3" New Egg must be incorrect.

I hope the TJ10 can fit this board.

OK, then why did you buy the board? 😕
It seems like such a waste if you're only going with dual-SLI.

There are many virtues to that board that have nothing to do with using 'only' 2 graphics cards.

My ony question is will I be able to assemble the box when I get home tonight or am I screwed.

Damn, major setback... I've got everythign here: Dual Plextor 128 GB SSD, 990X Cpu, 12 GB Turblulence Ram, and the damn Assassin is way too long in the top to bottom dimension. fron to back is more than fine, but it is about 1.5 inches too 'tall'. It wouldn't fit properly anyway since the ports don;t line up with the case correctly.

This set me back about a week. Gotta send back this Case and get a Silverstone TJ11 case...

kinda dissapointed they didnt make these p67.. awesome color schemes and features.
i would drop a 2600k in it in a heart beat.

"Heat Sink: Not a weapon. Cannot be assembled as a firearm."

LOL. Too awesome. 😀

If/when the do release this concept for Sandy Bridge it should sell well, despite the high price tag.

It would be a great mobo for quad GPU folding with double slot cards (if you have the right case for it).

has anybody seen the other 2 boards for sale yet? i seen gigabyte released bios update for the sniper board but have not seen it on newegg
