Gigabyte factory pics

I have no clue about any manufacturing stuff but suprized that it is still that labour intensive when it comes to placing parts on the motherboard.

UPDATE : anyway was a fun read , thx for the link 🙂

The staff might be smiling now but in six weeks their jobs will be occupied by robots.

Given the difficult cross-straits relation, having the factory running in Taiwan is mostly a political decision to appease the electorate who are fed up with getting their jobs outsourced to the mainland.

Taiwan is stuck in a rut where they are still overly dependent on commoditized electronics manufacturing where they can't match the cost and economics of scale of the PRC mainland, but yet are also lacking the skills to move up the value chain like South Korea did. Made even worse by faltering PC sales.
