Gigabyte EX58 whine noise

I have read from several forums reports of a high piched whining noise from the cpu area. After installing an I7 920 cpu on my Gigabyte EX58 I to began to notice the very high piched noise. I've heard a similar noise before...from PWM controllers operating under 12-15kHz. This is in the audible range. Normally these should be set above 25KHz but many times I've measured pwm controllers under 10. I started to notice this afer playing with the bios and enabling the pwm fan control. Think I'll go back and disable and see if it helps. Anyone else here find this same noise?
