New F12 BIOS for: GA-EP45-UD3R (released 18 Jan 2010)
http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/gigabyte-latest-bios-28441/

This GA-EP45-UD3R F12 bios seems to be defective, at least on my Windows system.
After updating, system would BSOD when re-booting XP-32 bit (on Intel Raid 0), while Windows 7 64-bit (on a single drive) would boot fine.
Even a fresh install of XP 32-bit BSOD'd during installation.
Have now re-flashed back to F11, and all is working again.
Anyone else try updating to F12 yet?

Flashed first using Windows (@BIOS util). I immediately got instability, programs crashing or giving error messages. However no BSOD.

Then Flashed using QFlash (BIOS). Instant BSOD. Tried to install a fresh copy of Windows XP SP3, BSOD on detecting devices.

Flashed back to F11. back to perfectly stable system and the installation completed without an issue.

I never recommend using Windows bios flash programs.
Try the DOS mode flasher, using a bootable USB thumb drive.
Worked fine for me, a least.

Did you make sure to put a check on "Restore CMOS defaults" on the @Bios utility. If you don't, you will experience problems. You basically have to change your settings BIOS settings to your preferences everytime after the newer version but It always works for me in that perspective.

Hi, sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I have a question about how to install the new F12 BIOS.

I have this motherboard and I have the F11 BIOS, which has been giving me a lot of headaches with BSOD's from my G. Skill RAM, and I was wondering how to install the new BIOS in a reliable way that wouldn't give me too many troubles.

Basically, how do I install this new BIOS version using the "DOS-mode flash utility"? I have a 4 GB FAT32 USB drive that I can use to install it on, but I don't know how to do it in this mode, as my motherboard manual doesn't give information about this method of updating the BIOS.

Thank you for any instructions that fellow users of this motherboard can give me! :)
