No matter what I have tried I have not be able to use the onboard Realtek ethernet to connect to either my Xbox 360 or PS3 to do media sharing. On my PC I can see the devices listed in the "Media Sharing" section of Media Player, but the devices can never see my PC.

This is on Vista x64. I read some places that it was due to problems with the Realtek ethernet device and that disabling Flow Control fixed the problem, however when I try that it still doesn't work.

Is there anyone here with an EP-35 that has successfully used the Media Sharing functionality in Vista?

What Anti-Virus you running? Kaspersky monitors my network traffic, which caused Media Center / 360 to not see each other.

Yeah, you can imagine how long it took me to figure THAT out.

I am running with Avast Antivirus. I have tried disabling Avast and it did not fix the problem.

I've actually narrowed out the network adapter and routers, since I have tried different ones and get the same issues. I can see my Xbox 360 in the Media Sharing list (and set to share), but sharing won't actually work. My PS3 never shows up in the list (neither does "Unknown").

I don't have any software firewalls installed and Windows Firewall is disabled. I'm guessing this is some sort of software issue (this thread should probably be moved), but I can't figure out what it is.

You could try tversity or some other media sharing app to make sure it's not an error with Media Player:

http://tversity.com/

Did you check the IP address on the PS3? Is it on the same network as the PC? Can you ping the PS3?

I think it is a problem with WMP, since I downloaded Nero and with that my Xbox can see the Nero share. It has been indexing for like 3 hours so far, so I don't know if it is actually going to work, but as of now none of my media shows up on it yet.

To test it only set up nero to index/share a very small portion of your media. That way you can quickly find out whether or not it will work for you.

Well Nero doesn't work either. I can connect to it on my Xbox, but no media actually shows up.
