Gigabyte now has both a ga-p35-ds3r and an ep35-ds3r energy saver board. The pictures and spec's for the latest rev 2.1 of each look identical. Any changes between these models or is the only differance in the included software? Why choose one over the other?

Hey Cat, i just built with the DS3R & what a great experience, smooth buil & set up with E8400 as i didn't want or need SLI or firewire !!
I'm sure you'll like the DS3P also

They're nice board's. I built this box last year with the p35-ds3r ver 1.0. My first one died in a week with the dreaded boot-loop problem but this rma replacement has ran flawlessly. My research on the differance between the current versions hints that there may be a change in the Intersil chip used to monitor temps and fan speeds. I guess that would be needed to support the energy saving features of the EP model. But thats not definate, no one seems to know for sure or they aren't saying. NDA maybe ?
