Gigabyte DS3R P35 OCing temps

Swamp

I just have a question. I've looked and have not seen anything about it. I OC'd my E6550 to 2.8ghz both cores run at like 28-33C at idle, lil higher under load. But my question is when my comp sits there idle for a while my temps are 21C for both cores. I used TAT and Speedfan both say the same temps. That normal? I am using my stock heatsink, CPU is at 1.29volts.

thx

so from what i understand, the only program that reads temps accurately at this point is coretemp 0.94 and 0.95.

now ask yourself, does it make sense for your chip to idle at 21C's? the best way is to know what your room temperature is.

if you live in the US and have a/c, my guess is your room temp will be anywhere between 23-27C's.

i highly doubt your chip will be able to idle at 21C's even with a room temp of 23C's... cpu colder than your room? i think not.

download coretemp and recheck your temps. i bet your temps will actually be around 35-36C's idle.

but if your room temps are 15-17C's then it might be possible to have a 21C idle temp..

well i just got done playing BF2 and my temps right now are 27C with Core temp .95. I'll see what it does when i let it idle. I was just worried that a sensor is bad or something
