Missing battery

I am missing a battery, the battery that is missing is the one that i have highlighted in the picture. However, my computer runs perfectly fine. The only problem that i have is my integrated ethernet card on the gigabyte board gets undetected, after every system reboot. Probably because of this missing battery. But i bought a new ethernet card so internet is fine.

Anyway The question that i am asking is, Since i found the missing battery do i plug it back in or do i leave it? And there is a + and - sign, How do i know which is + on the battery and which is - on the battery.

Does anyway know what that battery is for. Is it for the integrated ethernet card?
