..found this post in newegg about the GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 (rev. 1.3) LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

Cons: The analog line out produced a loud hum on my audio system. It is diminished once the windows audio driver loads, but still present. I switched to the digital coaxial audio output, and it's *beautifully* crystal clear, no hum. it offers up to 192khz digital audio out!
 
My onboard sound on both my GA-965G-DS3 Rev 1.0 and my GA-965P-DS3 Rev 3.3 has been good and clear. The only issue I have is that in my new surround sound the subwoofer refuses to be silent.

..no sub level control? good to hear there's no hum prob.
