Hello,
I had this board and have been using the BIOS F5 to overclock my E6300 from stock to 2.8Ghz with stock Vcore.
System specs:
-Retail E6300
-965P-S3 Rev. 1
-RAID 0 with 2X 320GB 7200.10 SATA drives.
-3X 320GB 7200.10 drives SATA drives.
-X-Fi Extreme Music.
-2GB OCZ Gold XTC PC8000.
-Samsung SATA 18X DVDR burner.
With F5, I can overclock no problem.
With any later BIOS, I cannot overclock to 2.8Ghz no matter what is the voltage. The reason I want to update the BIOS b/c I want to use the AHCI and upgrading to E6420 processor soon.
Any input or pointers would be much appreciated.
Found the answer.
-For some reason, it will not overclock unless you set the PCI_e clock speed to 110Mhz. This is really weird but I can now run the same overclock with the F9 BIOS now. AHCI is installed but how do I know if it's using all of its features? The Intel software I downloaded from Intel's website says during installation that my system does not meet the minimum requirement to install this software.
Thanks.
