I purchased and built a system using the subject motherboard. I'm using a new 80 conductor cable connecting my hard drive (Western Digital ATA-100 capable) to channel 1 and another new 80 conductor cable connecting my CDRW and DVD drive to channel 2. I won't list the balance of the system unless you want to know. Anyhow, my primary and secondary IDE channels will periodically drop down to PIO mode. I know about the Microsoft article regarding PIO/DMA and the 6 errors dropping the mode down. I need to know why this is happening. Anybody else having this problem or know of a thread talking about this problem?
