Does anyone know how to setup the BIOS on the Gigabyte 8knxp so that the system will not check for a RAID configuration each time? This really slows down the startup.

Also, is it possible to boot from an Ultra ATA 133 drive on the 3rd or 4th IDE controller? I got the system to recognize the drive in the raid section, but I could not boot from it. I am able to move the drive to IDE 1 or 2 and boot from it, but that won't allow me to utilize Ultra ATA 133 (not that I am going to see that type of speed).

I just picked up this board over the weekend and I think this may help you out. If you are not using the SATA controllers, disable them in the BIOS. Under the GigaRAID settings, make sure it is enabled and that you have it set to normal ATA. (These can be found in the Integrated Peripherals section.) Go into the Advanced Settings and make sure the GigaRAID (or ITE RAID) is at the top of the boot list. In the boot order section, you may have to play with the various HDD ones.

Hope this helps, I am winging it from memory here.
