I have had a bad luck with this MB. First one I've bought had corrupted bios to the point that when I booted up I was listening to two short beeps accompanied with the blank screen. I've exchanged it for new motherboard yet with another problem. When I boot up the computer, right when is about to run windows, I have a nice blue screen with an error message saying that the BIOS is not ACPI compilant. I have the latest BIOS from gigabyte (F4). I've sent an e-mail to gigabyte's technical support about week and some ago with no reply from them yet.
I have :
P4 @ 3.06GHz
8inxp motherboard
ATI Radeon 9700 pro
2 WD HArddrives (not set up for RAID)
Creative labs Life! Platinum soundcard
2 X 512 MB DDR 266MHz CAS latency 2.5 from Naya
I ve tried to run just one of these harddrives since they were on the same cable to not have to be waiting forever on those endless boots. I've swapped the Ati for Invidia GeForce2 TI 64 MB DDR ram. And finally, I Took of the Creative Labs sound card. I was just running the motherboard with the graphic card and one HDD. Still there was the windows error message about ACPI compliancy. When I try to reinstall Windows I have the same error message after like 3 minutes. I haven't mess with the CMOS too much, just turn off these RAID options and running it at OPTIMAL DEFAULTS.
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
thanks Martin
