I have built a new system using a P4 2.26 processor, Gigabyte 8IHXP MB, 512 MB 0f 1066 RDRam, and an ATI Radeon 8500 video card, running WinXP. I seem to be having an AGP problem on the board. I am on my second Radeon card, and have also tried a PNY Verto 440. The system will boot to the Windos XP screen (sometimes) or lock up after posting. I have tried the latest drivers from ATI, Intel, Gigabyte, Microsoft, etc, for all of the components. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing drivers, changing my bios settings, goat blood and chicken bones (just kidding), but nothing works, I am able to run in VGA mode only, and the system is very prone to crashing. Any Ideas?

I'd start by removing all your excess parts from your pc such as sound, nic, etc and just leaving your video card installed and try again.

If that doesn't work then check your PSU to make sure your delivering enuff power to your system , you really need a good PSU nowadays with an absolute minimum of 300w also check in your bios and view your voltages to see how good they are .

Thanks for the reply,
The AGP card is the only card in the system. the lan, audio, usb, etc are integrated on the MB. The power supply is a new Antec 300 watt. The onboard system health monitor shows all of the voltages being correct. Any other thoughts?

Yes,
I assume that your'e talking about the 6 pin aux, connector and the 4 pin atx connector. They are both connected, as well as the standard atx connector. I do have 2 auxillary cooling fans running, but the power supply should be able to handle them. Thanks again for the replies!
