Having a big problem deciding if I want to go with an 8IEXP and a 1.8a or a 7VRXP and an xp2100 (Since I already have the 2100)... I'm pretty sure that I am going to get one of these two motherboards, I just don't know which one (although other sugguestions are welcomed too, but please give an explanation)

If I go 8IEXP then I'll upgrade an existing box with it (or possibly sell it) so it won't go to waste...

What I am looking for is reasonable arguments either way.. For example, this would be a good one:
Intel chips are continuing to go up in speed and the motherboard could be reused later on with a faster processor where as the AthlonXP series has pretty much maxed out..

Please don't post any arguments for or against either without a reason why.

[EDIT]: I would be planning overclock the p4 (my xp2100 doesn't get much oc ability) so the price between the Intel and AMD setup would be about the same if I was to sell my xp2100 (The Intel setup would cost me about $20 more but would offer a faster system if the chip overclocks decently which pretty much all the 1.8as do)

I say go with the P4, it will be quieter, cooler, overclock a lot better (if you want to) and be more future compatable (as you mentioned above).

Good luck on whatever you pick,

I dont think there is a point of changing to p4. You already have a very fast system ....AMD 2100. Ofcourse if you wanna try out p4 ..go ahead but i dont think u will notice any difference. On the other side ...p4 will be better in overclocking even with retail heatsink. Emm....depends ...if you can find a good buyer for your amd ..why not just spend 20 bucks more to get a p4 ?! If you are lossing alots of money by selling your amd ...why not just keep it ? is not a slow system anyway ...

Just my opinion...
