Any one here having problems with 875p chipset? I have a new Gigabyte GA-8KNXP motherboard that has been nothing but problems.

1. No Sata driver comes with board. Had to download from intel.
2. Now the system just locks up when coping files during Windows XP install.
3. Sometimes it blue screens with atapi.sys or other error.
4. I finally got windows installed then as it started to boot blue screen!

Has anyone else seen problems like this? Is it the board? Could it be memory? I got Patriot PC3200 CL2.

Intel 3.0ghz 800mhz
GA-8KNXP
1gb Patriot PC3200 CL2
Seagate 80gb Sata
Sony DVD+- RW

Thanks

it sounds to me like the memory or overheating; back off your BIOS settings to the defaults, if there's such an option, so that everything is running as slowly as possible and see if that helps.

are your temps OK?

The CPU is at 45c and all fans are spinning. That was one of the fisrt things I look at. I am going to try updating the bios next.
