hi,
I have the following;
GA-81945g Pro
Intel 630
WD-3200JB
1gig ram
dvd rom
and I am having problems with booting. I'm sure it's to do with my bios settings.
The machine boots into Windows in this setup;
HDD as Master on IDE 1
DVD as SLAVE on IDE 1
but it does NOT boot in this set up
HDD as Master on IDE 1
DVD as Master on IDE 2
In that mode, i get a "BOOT DISK ERROR, please put in a boot disk etc etc".
IDE 2 and IDE 3 are, by default, used as part of the GIGARaid functionality of my MB. I have tried changing the mode from RAID to ATA, but it doesnt help.
However, I ALSO get that "BOOT DISK" error with this set up;
HDD as Master on IDE 1
DVD not plugged in.
It boots when both the HDD and the DVD are on IDE 1 (as Master/Slave), but if I take the SLAVE off, it fails to boot!?!?!?!?
any thoughts?
