Hi,

I have a Gigabyte 7vxp motherboard. It worked very well for some time, but lately there seems to be a problem with the NIC subsystem. I tried using the onboard and as well as putting a PCI Dlink NIC but have the same problem. This is what happens: the connection to the internet seems to be instable. Often the first click on a web link or to check my mail doesn't work, the logo shows that its searching is active but it times out. I have to click 2 or 3 times. When I click on the link to check my mail from msn messenger, I have to do the opeartion 3 times every time. the 3rd window will load. finally on mIRC i loose connection by the software doesnT' realise it, and it's only later sometimes hours since I lost connection, I type something ( thinking I'm still connected) and then it shows it's disconnected. Also in dreamweaver, which is one of the most annoying things, every single time, when I tried to uplaod to the site, the first time will timeout... so I have to click connect, wait until the " waiting for server" status then click disconnect ( otherwise it will think it's connected) and press connect again. It also cannot sustain long transfers. Same thing happens with other ftp clients. In short the behavior reminds me of a retarded child that you have to repeat things several times.
I have another computer on the same home network, it doesn't seem to have any problems, so I guess the problem is localised to the computer somehow. I tried reainstalling everything with all the drivers for every single element in the computer. Since then I also changed HD and vid card. No change.

So I've been wondering is it possible something is wrong the motherboard that would cause such a localised problem, or do I have look elsewhere? The mobo is otherwise operational. no other problems.

Thanks
Peter
