Gigabyte 7VRX Rev2 - Thermal Protection bug?

I have tested many 7vrx revision 2 and it seems that most of them have a wrong implementation of the thermal protection. When using athlon xp the system shuts down after a few seconds, while with Duron everything works ok. This issue isn't solved by updating the bios. Note that rev 1.1 didn't have such problems. Has anybody found a solution to this issue?
