Gigabyte 7N400 pro IDE 3 and 4 raid only?

My western digital drive apparently doesn't like being on the same channel as maxtors, so I'd like to put my 2 maxtors on IDE channel 3 or 4. My bios sees the 160 gig drive, but only when I go to the raid utility. So, are the IDE 3 and 4 channels for raid only? Windows is not seeing the bigger drive at all (before it could see part if it, the 127 or whatever gigs, but not all because I cannot get the service pack installed). Any way for me to get my 3 harddrives and 2 cdroms on here?

Thanks,
Spud

Working fine for me, just set it up... I installed XP with one dvd-rom and one WD on the regular ide's, installed everything including service pack, updates, and the raid drivers from the cd, and then switched channels, dvd and rw on the first two, wd on 3 and an old fujitsu on the 4th. Make sure you enable raid as normal ide in the raid bios, and you may need to copy the raid drivers from the cd onto a floppy and hit f6 while xp is installing.

No weird pr0blems like I had on all my cheap via boards. I'm loving it. Now if I can just get this 8500DV software to run right... I'm buying an nvidia card!

What problems are you haveing with the 8500DV? I have the same MB and the 8500DV with no problems, however, I am on Win2000SP3, not on XP. What other hardware do you have?
