Gigabyte 7IXE4 (Irongate AMD 750 chipset)

Has anyone used this mobo before? I'm using it right now, and I must say, it sucks bigtime. In windows98 it would NOT work at all with my SB Live! and now in win2k it barely putters along. It stutters all the time now that I put in this cheap winmodem and grrr I hate it! I tried installing another stick of ram (one stick from when I was using linux on it.. Wont work on it now!) a 128 and a 256, both made the mobo so it would NOT post at all! what the heck is going on here?!

I've noticed a trend and it's just a hinch
but SoundBlasters and AMD processors (doesnt really matter which mobo it is) never really go togheter without problems ... try to see if switching the soundcard with a regular one (non soundblaster, that u can borrow from a buddy or so) helps

Actually I always found that mobo to be one of the more reliable AMD750 based motherboards. I built many systems on it that used SB Live's! w/no problems.
