I have been looking for a video card for a little while and I think that I have finally found what I'm looking for. Click.
This is pretty much my budget max so I can't get a 7600GT and it already comes slightly overclocked, 450MHz instead of 400 core which is something I've never done with a video card and am hesitant to do.
It also has only rave reviews at newegg.

Tell me if you think this is a good choice, or if you have a better suggestion.

BTW, I prefer to game at 1024x768 usually, but sometimes I use 1280x1024 and prefer maxed out settings, is this possible in most games?

You can't expect maxed out settings even at 10X7 with a 7600GS( I am not even talking of AA and AF)
even a 7600GT can't do that

7600GT will still be able to do that in many games. But I would suggest a 7900GT to do that in all games.

Try to extend your budget to 200-250$ to get some really good deals.

a 7600GS can't do max.
7600GT can do many max.
7800GT should do most max.
7900GT should do as such all max.

Depends what games your playing, last years games you should be fine, but the newer ones you can't.

You know, I find it funny that most of akshayt's posts revolve around telling the OP to sell their parts or extend their budget and get higher end video parts...that and giving out wrong advice :D

To the OP, I have an eVGA 7600GT KO, and I can run games like Half-Life 2 and Need for Speed Most Wanted at 1280*1024 with MAX Settings for everything (AA/AF, Bloom lighting and the rest of the package). In HL2 with everything maxed out, I get around 70-80 FPS. NFS MW runs a bit slower, but I usually average around 30-40 FPS with everything maxed, with sometimes a drop into the high 20s when there are a lot of police cars or what not.

To tell you the truth, I believe that a 7600GS can probably to close to max at 1024 by 768 resolution. One of my friends has a 6600GT (overclocked to 565/1100), and he can do NFS MW with everything maxed except AA (that's next to max) at 10 by 7 resolution. NFS MW is one of the more demanding games out there, also. A 7600GS offers at least OC'd 6600GT performance, so I would say you should be fine at 1024 by 768 in most games.

However, if you are into FEAR and Oblivion...then most likely a 7600GS would have a bit of trouble. But if you turn down the visuals a bit, then I believe you should be ok even there. My friend with his 6600GT can play Oblivion fine at 1024 by 768 with medium-high settings I believe. And with a bit of overclocking you can increase the performance of your GS to almost GT levels probably.
