It is passive though...and I'm pretty sure this card has a smaller footprint than one with a s1 on it. It is expensive though (Canadian prices)...if it was just under $200 I think it'd be a good deal.
 
totally not worth it for the price, you could get a 4870 for that and underclock it to 4850 speeds to get the same effect.

Both are passive, but the footprint is smaller and you still have a warranty.
 
Nice card.

The 4850 doesn't generate as much heat as the 4870. I'd get this card if a good rebate deal came along. I have the Gigabyte 4850 with the Zalman cooler on it and I hate to say it, it's pretty loud. I used a spare Zalman Fan Mate II controller to ramp it down bigtime so it's virtually silent now. I've never seen a temp above 65.
