Gigabyte 3D cooler compatible with A64 DTR?

I'm thinking about buidling an A64 system, and had heard that the A64 DTR (desktop replacement version), which doesn't have a integrated heat spreader, is supposed to have better cooling properties. I have a Gigabyte 3d Cooler Pro and was wondering if anyone here has tried it with an A64 DTR. I've heard that some coolers will work, but there have to be mods done in order to ensure proper contact with the cpu core. If anyone's tried it with this cooler w/ the A64 DTR tell us how your experiences went.
