I was just wonder what benifit it had on mobos at this time its for the 802.3 protocol ? Really I am just wondering any anwers would be apprieciated

Thanks.

Well it only benifits if you have a Gigabit Network other wise it is useless. Both my desktop and Laptop have Gig NIC's but I don't have a Gig router so I can't run at that speed. Is it a waste? no not really. I don't need the extra speed I barely ever do file transfers between my systems. I ussually just upload stuff to my FTP which sure as heck doesn't go much above 384k/b's.

So all in all no benifit unless you do alot of data transfers and have a gigabit network

with every component at GigE running Full Duplex you would be happy to get over 150Mbs, And a normal 10/100 setup would be doing great to hit much over 60Mbs.

Most like;y you would not uses it or notice it unless you were copying some monster 300MB+ files across the network.
