Giga-Byte GA-8IHXP Titan with Rambus

I was looking at the manual for this motherboard that supports PC1066 Rambus memory, and was wondering--if I only use 2 RIMMs, do I still have to use 2 CRIMMS for the remaining two open slots. I knew that Rambus had to be used in pairs, but I did not know if all slots had to be filled with something. Any Help???
