Gift receipt?

You tape it to the back. If they like it, they throw the receipt away and they don't know how much you paid for it. If they don't want it, they take it back and get cash instead of store credit. They're great.

What is the point of giving a gift receipt with a gift (book)?

I don't understand...whats there not to understand? You give the gift recipt just in case the person wants to return the book.

Ahh see thats what I was wondering. So it's in fact a fully useable receipt..

What the hell did you think it was, proof that the giver didn't steal it?

Jeez.

I know at some places they only give you store credit if you have a gift receipt. Target being one of those places. I've returned two things to Target with gift receipts and they said they only give store credit with them.

Never saw what the big deal with them was, I always just get regular receipts.

Well basically what it is is a receipt that doesnt show the cost of the merchandise but if you wanted to return/exchange it you could and get the full price the gift giver paid instead of what the current/last sale price was which in some cases could be drastically lower if you dont have a receipt.
