Gift Ideas

Must get a birthday present for a guy turning 50. He's into running, (moving to biking and rollerblading, could I get helmet?) science (evolution, geological patterns, etc), powertools (workshop,) music (already has mp3 player), and the likes.

What could I get?

Preferably under $50

I was thinking about that craftsman 2 gal shopvac at sears, but the price recently went up

There are lots of inexpensive accessories you could get for someone who runs, bikes, and rollerblades, but it would help if you know what he already has. One thing you might consider is a pair of safety glasses. I like the clear, anti-fog, wrap-around style for biking. Those are really cheap and would leave you money for something else as well. Most people like to pick out their own helmet to get the fit right. Maybe you could just get him a gift card from a place like Dick's Sporting Goods.

what about a gift card to a local running/sport shop? that way he could get new shoes if he wanted or whatever else.

That, or a gift card to a Discovery Channel store (if there are any in your area).

Are there any concerts that are coming up that he would like? what about two tickets to one of them?
