He's 6 and you're already trying to turn him into a "computer/techie kid"? You are fvcked up. Thank goodness your wife says no to WoW.

You don't know your son well enough at six to have a list of ideas outside of a life-crippling video game? :(

His older brother (age 11) plays City of Heroes and is the artist. The middle boy (age 7.5) is the LEGO builder, but the little guy just hasn't picked anything out yet. He just beat Cake Mania on the PC. My wife downloaded it for herself, but he took it over and whipped the game.

I don't think my mother in law is going to drop $250+ on a Wii for him. He says he is too old for baby stuff.

how about a : bat and a glove, football, basketball, soccer ball, tennis raquet, rollerblades, skateboard, bicycle ....

The kid will have the rest of his life to stay inside and geek out

Portable backboard & basketball. Always wanted one as a kid. He can invite his friends over, rather then talk on AIM.

Poor kid. I hope you haven't forced him into being one of these super-genius nerdy children.

A Wii is not a baby toy at all. We had a group of 18-20 year old people playing one last night, we had a blast.

Winner with the "Shake and glow" flashlight. In the mother in laws budget, has some educational value and does not require batteries!

Thanks funboy42. The oldest wants Guitar Hero I, the middle child wants LEGOs and the LEGO Bionicle Heroes PC game. The oldest tried the free trial of WoW which is where the little guy got interested in it.

A 6 year old playing WoW? Most adults cannot handle their WoW addictions properly, no need to get a 6 year old started early.

I'd recommend simpler computer games as opposed to RPGs and flight simulators. Assuming he doesn't mind old graphics, try getting him Super Mario All Stars + World and a SNES.

At age 6? WTF?! Hell, I still enjoy playing even "baby stuff" like Pokemon to this day.

i don't know if they still make them but my uncle got me this little electronics kit that you make different things out of by connecting wires together. you could make noisemakers, a transistor radio, etc. you could then undo the wires and make something else. was pretty cool.

His older brother (age 11) downloaded and played the free trial of WoW. The older brother created a character for him which he quickly leveled up to 10 by "hanging out in the forest killing boars". I know, sounds like South Part WoW. The free trial is over and they haven't played it since. The oldest still plays CoH.

I asked the little guy today "Grandma wants to know what you want for Christmas" and he shouted "Warcraft!". But like I said that's a no. He said he does not want any baby stuff like TMX Elmo or Dora.
