Ok, have a 14 yr old nephew and I can't decide what to get him. He's into everquest, weapons, cars, etc...the normal 14yr old boy stuff. I'm 29 though and kind of out of the 'cool loop'. So, what's hot this year, what would this guy like? Any ideas?

Yeah, weapons...you know, guns, knives, swords, armor, explosives, paintball, airsoft, AMTGARD, SCA....my own fault. Have an uncle who's into all that stuff and you're certain to follow.

Secret Sam...haven't heard of it, what's it like?

actually i have a good one, how about a subscription to maxim? that's seriously a good magazine, even without the pictures and crap.

i'd recommend one of the new video game systems. xbox or gamecube, or maybe the ps2. don't get him anything dangerous.

mps/cd player (rio volt)
leather wallet
Nike "Shocks" shoes
toiletries (shaving stuff - makes him feel like a man)
golf hat
clothes from the Gap
50 pack blank cd's
new remote control for his tv

you could also try
The Matrix dvd or vhs
palm m100
computer games
a "sling pack"
nike wristwatch

kids this age are basically small greedy adults...

anyone find it kinda strange his mom won't allow porn but all those weapons are good? ;)
anyways, if he's fourteen, no toys, no clothes.
get him something that requires batteries and perhaps a bit of assembly...


or just get him a gamecube/ps2/xbox

yes, i do find it peculiar when people allow violence but not some tender lovin' scenes. not that seeing hardcore action is right for a 14 year old either.

If he is into everquest why not get him a Ruger Mini-15 or an AR-15 along with a conversion book? With that you will forever win his way into his heart ;)

BTW, I'm a recovering EQ addict, I have more weapons than anyone I know, and im not too bad with a car either ;)
