Here is how it went in 2013
I re-gifted the Jesus toaster from 2011.

It was very popular, so I decided it could return. It was stolen the maximum number of times again.
What did I get? The Lord of the Rings Pez collector series.

Nah, I live in the heart of Angus country. And we have an "exception" for parents/aunts.

My mom created the "granner exception" one year. It was hilarious.
People were happily stealing things, and she got something she wanted. She invoked her special rule and simply denied whoever was trying to steal it. Something about being 80 plus. The crowd ratified the rule on the spot.

Last year was the first year we did this, and people were very polite, reluctant to steal things. This year, not so much.
