Gif Animation Slow

I have a situation that has never been resolved.

Most gif files will play normally while some will be incredibly slow.
I've tried updating all sorts of software, clean OS installs, an more.

(I should point out the slow ones tend to work in firefox ON the page
it originates from)

Re-downloading them doesn't fix it, acquiring them from an entirely
different site doesn't change the fact.

Is there anything that can be done?

Yes, open them up in Adobe PE or PS (as an animated GIF) and inspect the frame rate value. Are the GIFs sequencing at the stated rate? Re-adjust the sequence timing value to suit and re-save the GIF.

Thanks, future people should note that if you change the forever option during the animation bar sequence thinking it only effects the preview to "once" your wrong.

I had to go back an redo all my files because of that. Hope it saves someone else the trouble.

Infact I'll add the step by step process for other people:

Steps:

This can be done in Photoshop under file>import>video frames to layers

If for some reason your unable to view gif files, enter in the main field *.* an hit enter, this forces them to become
an openable option.

Then choosing to use every 2 frames

Then saving it via "save for web & devices" using the default settings as they appear.

Hit save an rename the file if needed.

Open file to ensure it works at the speed it should.
Otherwise repeat this process to speed it up (as far as I know this is how I sped it up).

Enjoy.
