Gibson Sg Owners.....Anyone Try Out The New "Menace"

any thoughts or experience with trying one out yet? My son is picking out his first real electric. He can't afford a classic or the Angus Young signature but he wants an SG. I think the classic with P90's probably would be the best choice under a thousand bucks but it is his money.

Get a basic sg that feels good and just swap the pickups to the ones he wants.

I'm aware of them. They have different pickups than a normal SG. I think they're hotter, which will lend to heavy distortion.

This model also lacks the neck and body detail of the standard SG.
