What is the thermal-throttling in the bios settings and what is it suppose to be set at? Right now it is set at 50% and has different % values up to 100%. My cpu temp is running at 31C . It is a 2600XP and I'm thinking it should be running a little warmer than this. Also I'm getting some random reboots and am wondering if both of these could be caused by this thermal throttling. I can't see anything else in the bios out of the ordinary.

It's Gigabyte's option to controll the RPM's your fan runs at. If you set it at 100%, it will run at 100% at its capacity all the time, if used @ 50%, then when CPU is IDLE, your fan will lower its RPMs, hence, making your computer quieter.

Thanks Aenslead, then I guess that isn't why I'm getting these random reboots. But it does explain why this box sounds quieter than my other.
