"Best" is such a subjective term. I, for one, do not believe it's such a great rivalry, let alone the "best" rivalry.

the actual rivalries that matter are in international and college sports, where the team you care about actually means something...red sox and yankees are owned by some fat rich tycoons...how can you be loyal to a team thats owned by someone? people that believe in these fabricated rivalries are TOOLS. you may try to defend your position but if you look at the big picture, what you're supporting is a corportation not a team by the traditional sense. Any player on that team would leave to go to another team if he gets payed more? and the owner might even move the team if it is in his financial interest.

Likewise, any college player could transfer somewhere else.

As a Giants fan, I am sorry to say that last week's loss devastated this team. They most likely will lose tomorrow, and yet another second half collapse awaits the team. 8-8, with a lucky bounce, 9-7. With the present coaching staff at the helm, this team won't come together.

I've been down this road before with the Giants, fellow fan. They've teased and toyed with the emotions of many of us in the past.Originally posted by: ThePresence

I know you hate Coughlin, don't know why though.
What you say is true if it's looked at it from an objective, rational standpoint. But "fanism" is not a rational thing, it's an emotional thing. My grandfather, and father were both Yankee fans, so I grew up a Yankee fan, and I will always be one. It has nothing to do with who the owner is, and it cannot be rationally explained to anyone who is not part of it.Originally posted by: Inspector Jihad

As for Coughlin, he's never convinced me that he can take a team to the end. His old world style seems an ill fit for this team. The players, for example, were fearful of Parcells, but they would walk through fire for him, also. The same can't be say of Coughlin. As long as he and his staff, (Tim Lewis as DC. . .ugh), are running the show, this team is doomed to mediocrity. Now, having said all this, I sure as hell hope they prove me wrong tomorrow. I'll gladly eat humble pie.
