On a whim, I ordered some toasted ants. They are f-ing huge.

The flavor is described as "nutty bacon like." Not quite. Kind of, but there is a pretty strong dirt flavor to me.

I would say nasty, but when I went to China last time, my cousin ordered a dish huge cooked cockroaches. These cockroaches were the size of car keys. No, i did not eat them. Sad to say, but I was way to westernized.

Yes. I'm having a hard time with these. Objectively, there's nothing really wrong with them (aside from not tasting so great). It's just hard to get past the mental aspect.

I had a friend who was from Colombia who would get giant roasted ants like that occasionally.

I thought the taste was fine but the ick factor got to me so I didn't eat many.

I probably would have lost my lunch right there just by seeing that "dish."
