I think the best way is to import your video onto the computer and lay the effects over it. Or buy a proton beam pack.

Thats what i mean. I know software lets you overlay effects such as lightning etc. Wanted to see if there was a place to dlownload that effect for use with a video edoting software

I didnt know if there was special software that could put these effects in.

You are a moron.

That being said, search a little.

No you are the idiot my sir. Nice broad range of topics that search comes up with. If your so smart then get me a link to where it shows you how or where i can find this effect

Don't mind him. He's just a malcontent asshole who gets off on pissing in everyone's Cheerios because he can't conceive of the fact that being nice for a change might actually have a positive result.

Seriously, if you want to make an effect like that you are going to have to get either Lightwave, 3DS Max or Maya. You can get Maya for free here.

I always thought those effects looked like they were just drawn, like a cartoon

I can't imagine they had computers powerful enough to do those special effects back then...

The DVD releases are probably pretty sparse I'd guess, like most older movies are.

They need to re-release them, but at the rate Hollywood is going, they'll do a crappy Ghostbusters 3 sequal and release them then.

I am dumbfounded by people like you who see movies like Titanic, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars, Toy Story, or any other movie that has elements that cannot possibly be filmed by natural occurances in nature --and NOT understand that it was done on computer?

It boggles my mind that people are dumb enough not to comprehend the idea of video editing, whether it be physically drawing or painting the element into each frame (frame-by-frame like in Star Wars), or clicking the render button like in Toy Story.

I just... don't understand how you don't understand. Oh well. I used to watch Movie Magic when it was still on TV. I watch every single "behind the scenes" section of every DVD that I rent or can get my hands on. I love this kind of stuff and maybe knowing how this stuff works just comes from being emersed in it. Still... you gotta be a serious bonehead not to understand this.
