Who will have the higher gross?

1.0 or the reboot?

http://www.polygon.com/2016/4/29/11540530/ghostbusters-theatrical-re-release-date-2016

Due to the limited number of days for 1.0 (A total of two), the reboot will make more. But if they gave 1.0 a "normal" release I wouldn't be shocked to see it outgross the reboot.

Most of us already have Ghostbusters on DVD, BluRay, or at least available On Demand somewhere. I doubt that many of us would want to pony up $20 to see it in the theater again.

I'm definitely going to see it if I can because I was too young to see it in theaters the first time, but watched the show like a religion. I just hope Regal doesn't punt like a bastard.

That's the answer. If absolutely forced to go to a theater and see one or the other, I'd go see the original. But since I'm not being forced I would not go to the theater at all. Watch the DVD of the original, ignore the reboot entirely as it so richly deserves.

It's almost as if they knew a Remake was a bad idea. So they added the gimmick of making it an all Female Cast to try and sell a few more tickets.

Reboot will almost certainly make more money, but it will certainly certainly be absolutely awful.

That is very sexist of you. :colbert:

Are you serious? My sarcasm meter isn't working this early in the morning...

It's bad enough Sony was behind much of the push for "Love the new girl-power Ghostbusters or you're a sexist misogynist!"

It's been the go-to knee-jerk response for all the progressives since day one. No discussion allowed.

The whole thing is a big political move and I don't go to the movies for dogma.

I want to see it just for Leslie Jones from SNL.
I think she is great. A natural comic.
She is amazing and has such growth potential in comedy.
Keep an eye on this lady, she is going places.

Ironically, Dogma was worth going to the movies to see.

Heh... I thought about that right as I hit 'post'... I'd been told it was a good film but I've never watched it. After so many years (and no longer being religious) I think it's time to give it a shot. ;)
