This is the most realistic modern combat game to date. Hands down. They added a cover system that makes the game feel super real.

Graphics are realistic and beautiful, everything you loved about GRAW plus a facelift.

Squad AI is much improved over the first one.

Story line is believable and gripping.

If you havent already, check out the demo on Xbox Live.

This in no way was meant as a review, I was just letting you guys know that it's worth a look. Especially if you enjoyed the first one at all.

I think you should put " - General George S. Patton " at the end of your signature.

But uhh...I heard the game wasn't a *real* sequel.

I'll be sure to add Patton in there? It's not offensive without it is it? I thought the quotes were sufficient, but oh well.

What do you mean it isnt a real sequel?

It picks up a couple of days after the first GRAW took place. In fact the conflict you're involved with in GRAW2 is a direct result of the coup that took place in GRAW.

There's lengthly references to Capt. Mitchell's adventures in GRAW by an over eager Private that drives you around. Kinda like a hero worship thing.

I mean...well...there aren't a lot of new gameplay mechanics (yes, I know there's MULE) so it feels like the same old gameplay from the previous game. Ugh, this is pretty much a lame argument but...I'm not saying the gameplay is bad, I'm just saying that it could use some more depth.

Btw, you *don't* have to put in George S. Patton. But I think it's nice to give him a little credit as I live in San Gabriel, where he was born. :D

Oh, ok, I see what you're saying. Your post makes more sense now.

A lot of it is the same, but I think it plays a lot more realistic. The cover system that was added makes for much more realistic firefights. The improved squad AI makes it more realistic as well. Enemy AI is better. They'll take cover similarly to how you do and they lay down a mean suppression fire.

The Cross-Com is a lot smoother too.

There are new weapons too. The counter snipe is awesome. Reminds me of the movie Navy SEALs when Bill Paxton kills the terrorists from behind the brick wall.

I'm not sure what else they could have done to the game without changing the entire feel.

Oh yeah and the F22 airstrikes are awesome.

Well, little changes and small improvements do make a big difference (That's a good thing) as long as it introduces something different than the previous game (Dynasty Warriors, anyone?)

I'm a person that is all about change but...yes, I do feel like too much change can be bad.

Sorry if I was being convoluted before. Guess I was just pulling stuff out of my ass. :(

I wouldn't consider it the most realistic by any means. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it. But the cover system isn't new -- it was in GRAW 1. And they really didn't do anything but add REALLY nice explosion/smoke/dust/particle effects. I like the story, and the graphics have been improved some. I like how it doesn't cut the graphics to crap mode when you go into multiplayer.

The AI is horrible for the teammates. They constantly don't fire back. I've had them run over to artillery I'm demoing, just as the C4 is about to go off -- and they'll refuse my orders to come back to me. I've counted at least 5 times where I've ordered a medic to come patch someone up, and he'll run over to the guy, and then wait for a moment before returning back to where he was, without patching the guy up. The controls are still clunky IMO.

I don't regret at all my purchase as I did like the first one, but they definitely could have done more. And removing the cover system from multiplayer AGAIN was a huge mistake.
