There really isn't much of a point to this thread, besides free advertising, I guess.

Just setup a new lab at work. Built one machine (software - about 9gb worth), then multicasted that onto another 12 machines. Now I'm gonna sysprep one of those machines, and build the new image onto another 15 machines of various chipsets. This saved me about three weeks worth of work. 😀

Yes it does, I use it at least twice a week..... And it doesn't seem to eat a lot of bandwidth either. Gotta love imaging a bunch of machines in the same amount of time it takes to do one. Next for me is the sysprep thing so I don't have to keep so many images....

I haven't work with ghost for years....

When you image a machine, and providing all of them is in the network at the same time, doesn't it cause a conflict with the "SID"???

Sysprep. You'll find it on your XP/2000 CD. You can even get sysprep for NT 4.0 from Microsoft's website. 😉

Actually, I was refering to GhostWalker but Sysprep can be used too. An overview of this is available here.

I think I'm going to make it a priority to get one of these products. They would have saved me many days work in setting up labs and setting up these damn Dell 2350 machines!

Bsobel, in the Santa Monica office, no?

Ghost rocks, used it plenty, tested it at my stay at Symc, was such a great tool. The only problem with Ghost is that it doesn't work with NEC machines -- only the internal Symc product does.

Mutlicasting is great as long as it's not done on a production segment of a flat network - just an FYI
