Ghost is slooooow!

I'm running ghost 8.0 and I'm trying to pull a 2k3 image off a pentium 4 3.2 GHz machine. The server is a dual 2.4Ghz Xeon, with GB NICs. Both client and server are connected to the same GB Cisco 3750. I am pretty disappointed that I only get 230 MB/min. Shouldn't I get more like 6000MB/ min?

I've read that perhaps using a boot disk and includeing smartdrv.sys to increase the amount of RAM for the ghost application might boost the speed.

Thoughts or pointers?

I'm looking into confirming whether we have IGMP enabled, but the switch guys are out for the day.

2 x Gb / 8 = 250 less overheads. So that would seem right?! Are you running the client just on DOS? smartdrv.sys is for disk access no? IGMP, is that NIC teaming on the switch?

If those nics are Broadcom chip based you should check into getting newer drivers; there have been problems reported between Broadcom nics and Cisco switches.

yes, but I should be getting 250MBps not the 250MB/min that I am getting eh?

1Gb=100MBps after overhead. So I should be getting around 6 GB/min not this 250MB/min I am currently get, no?
