saw Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie aka Part6.

it ends the convoluted Arise story arc (thankfully).

watched the new movie and found it very boring.

That's how I felt about the second movie, which was the last one I tolerated. :colbert:

I still really want the original on BD. This enhanced version is so terrible it burns to think about. I want to throw it away but I have nothing better to replace it with. 🙁

Re: "The New Movie" (there's a name that's going to age badly!) - did people here watch it in English or Japanese with English subs? Just curious. I wonder whether I didn't get into borders 1 - 4 because I watched it in the latter format rather than in English like I've done for all the other GitS productions.

I watched borders 1 - 4 again recently, I enjoyed them more than I did the first time, but I think they retrod a lot of old territory and hardly added anything new and interesting at all. I'll probably watch "The New Movie" because I'm addicted to GitS, even though I didn't think much of 'Solid State Society' (it tried to go in a lot of directions at once but didn't deliver, again retrod old territory). GitS: Innocence is my favourite film out of the lot though. I wasn't that surprised when I found out that Studio Ghibli were involved in its production (whether or not that affected the things I like about it though, I have no idea).

I always watch anime subbed

I saw it in English. The one thing I did not like about the English dub is they used the wrong person for the Major. Mary Elizabeth McGlynn has done the voice for so long it really threw me when she voiced another character.
