I'm looking for an application or utility that can "pretend" to be a piece of hardware.
For example- an application will only run when your scanner is attached but the scanner is dead. I need a program that can make the hardware show up in Device Manager so the application will start. I can do other things with the program that don't require the scanner, so I just need it to run.
Any suggestions?
P.S. No, this isn't to bypass some kind of hardware encryption key or some such. It's actually for the above example.
