Ghost EV-DO Signals

I have Verizon Wireless and every once in awhile I start getting EV-DO signals. I look at the coverage on Verizon Wireless and they don't have any around San Luis Obispo. Any ideas why this is happening?

I sure hope it means they are testing and we will soon have EV-DO service in SLO and even better in the 5 citys area . I am tired of my friends with AT&T having faster service than I do. Where have you noticed the EV-DO?

Mostly around Calpoly, but I've seen it around Downtown.
