Ghost and Scheduled Task (shutdown)

I have a fleet of laptops that I need to shut down during the overnight. I tried putting a scheduled task to run a shutdown command with the authorization of the domain admin to call "shutdown.exe -f -s" but when I click "run" on the task or let the schedule run its course, nothing happens.... doesen't work for the local administrator either. Anyideas?
