I have just went to use ghost 9.0 and get this stupid error message cannot find virtual volume bla bla and when you go to there web site it says to remove the program and reinstall I did this and get the same freaking message every time. There is no other solutiuons posted on there web site and I will not pay 29.99 to call them on a program that does not work right out of the box and is mostlikely not 2 months old yet..

Anybody else have this problem and found a solution?

HECK NO!!!!!! I wouldn't trust acronis. Ghost has been around for a long long time and is tried and true. I have had lots of problems with acronis 7. I loved the ability to create imagines while you were in windows so i bought it. I had acronis fail twice on images i created of drives. I went to restore and the restore wouldn't get through without errors so pretty much i lost some stuff i shouldn't have lost. I have never ever had ghost fail and ive almost used it exclusivly except for the short amount of time i used acronis. Maybe acronis 8 is better..i don't know...but i lost trust in acronis with version 7.

It is really no big deal but irkes me that they have this problem and have no better solution but I was just going to do a ghost backup since it came with my 2005 SW premier. I googled the problem and there are a lot of problems out there with this and it is releated with boot screens in style xp but I do not have style XP. I will just go back to 2003 ghost if there is no fix.

I went through evaluation of current image/restore programs recently, and came away with the conclusion that both Norton and Acronis products have evolved to unreliable bloatware. I bought Acronis TI8 and quickly trashed it.

I'm using Terabyte 'Image for DOS'. It's inexpensive, runs from bootable floppy or CD and has been absolutely reliable for imaging/restoring my OS and Data partitions to/from DVD media. I've restored my OS partition from DVD media several times with this program.

30-day trial is fully-functional, purchase is less than $20.

Hope this helps!
