i have ghost 5.1c and am using a 40 gig drive that is partitioned into two 20 gig drives c and d. when I run ghost and try to back it up with an image it only recognizes the drive as a 38 gig drive and not two seperate drives. I am pretty new with ghost and wanted to know does ghost need two seperate drives or can i use the partition drive to back up an image ???

thanks for the info

Sounds like you are trying to backup your drive to a file on the same drive that you creating the image on. That is a no-no.

What you want to do is backup one of your partitions to a different partition. The menu option you are probably using is something like "Drive to image". You want "Partition to image" because you probably only want C:. If you want to image your whole drive, you will need a second drive to place the file.

The term "Hit the nail on the head" comes to mind here.
