I'd like to make a speaker enclosure with only a handsaw and a drill. Now, what do you think the easiest way to cut a circle out would be? Suggestions on a bit to use? I was kind of thinking of using that bit you can get for a dremel so that you can use it as a router, but I don't know if it'll be able to cut through mdf. If there aren't any decent bits that might work, my plan was to try drilling a bunch of holes in a circle and just punching a hole out. The box doesn't have to be pretty, just needs to work. :D

Get a holesaw 'bit'. If it's too small, don't worry - you can attach a flapwheel to the drill to clean up the edges.

if you're making a 12" circle you're not going to have the torque to cut that hole. i think there are cutting bits for drills, but not sure about it. i suggest hitting home depot.

Dude... you can get a real jigsaw for $30 at Home Depot. The results on your speaker cabinets should be worth the outlay in money.

Nah, it's just for a pair of 8's for my car. I tried my idea of drilling a bunch of holes and punching it out. It was so not worth the effort, heh. I think i'm just going to buy a jigsaw or something. I was hoping to do it without having to buy a powertool that I would only use once, but it doesn't look like that will happen.
