Ghee

LOL, why would you find ghee at a healthfood store 😛

Because normal grocery stores don't sell it. It isn't generally used in either American or Mexican food, so you usually only find it at places that sell Indian/Asian ingredients, healthfood stores or Indian markets.

Ah. But it's a little of an oxymoron, don't you think? 😉
That said, I do like Indian cuisine.

It's not like health food stores actually make a point of stocking healthy foods, it's just marketing gimmick. They wouldn't make very much money if all they sold was lettuce and cracked wheat. Besides, a bit of ghee isn't going to kill you, people have been eating ghee, other dairy products, and meat for thousands of years without much trouble. America's health problems only stem partially from the ingredients going into their foods. Mostly America has a lifestyle problem.

ATOT posters always want to confuse the readers so that they get a bunch of useless and often wrong posts. I don't know why they do this, but they keep doing it.

Ghee = clarified butter. Ghee is used frequently in Indian cooking and probably other asian foods.

What the hell are you talking about? Who is he trying to confuse? Why would he want posts from people who don't know what ghee is if he's asking a specific question about ghee in the first place?

People also read threads that they don't know about to learn. There are 59 views and 14 posts. That means 3x the number of people just read it because they know nothing about ghee. A thread does more than just answer one person's question.

I'd recommend Amul ghee which is what I use...

Have been using "Plough" ghee for years but its not easily available so not sure if they'd have it at your local Indian store..

Oh, I see. ATOT's posters have a sacred duty to educate the world.

In no particular order:

1) They educate the world.
2) They entertain the world.
3) They hopefully answer their questions.

If your post is so confusing that all 3 fail, then your post fails. How many times have you seen a post that was asking a question turn into a useless nef thread because the poster didn't provide enough info? Probably thousands of threads that I've seen. Just a short line (ghee = clarified butter) would satisfy all 3. So why not do it?
