There's a lot of really good songs in there. I'm a bit disappointed that like GH3 there are lots of nu-metal/metal songs I'm really not interested in playing. Really only a little over half the set list interests me still that enough where chances are I'll end up buying it since RB stuff is compatible with it. Oh and link

A list of songs has been floating around online today, purportedly comprising the Guitar Hero: World Tour setlist. With songs from bands like Tool, Pink Floyd and Thin Lizzy, it looks like a music-game lover's dream. Well, the folks at Activision and Red Octane are pinching us all awake with the announcement that it's a fake. We spoke with a representative who confirmed that, while some of those songs are indeed in the game (Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher," for one), the bulk of it is wishful thinking and pure speculation.

And we were so looking forward to the boss battle with bassist Sting, too. Drat.

DAMN, that is freaking awesome setlist. After seeing all the songs they landed, and the ability to use your Rock Band drums I might actually be purchasing this. RATM, Pink Floyd, Muse, and Sublime make this a definite purchase for me.

Wow thanks man. I hope this is real, I always hoped they would add some RJA songs to rock band (ass shaker would be sweet too). Too bad it won't be the demo cd version of the song, I guess that much screaming wouldn't be as appealing to most people. This has a lot of songs I wanted for RB like Bat Country, Dammit as well as some other songs that sound fun to play like comfortably numb. Actually looking forward to this, I wish they'd get rid of the stupid boss battle tour crap, why can't they just make it like RB where you just tour and play shows.

Those look like they'll be good. A couple others in there would've been nice if they were different songs by the same artist. Like maybe an earlier KoRn song.

If this list is fake I will have a sad.

I'm thinking it's too good to not be fake though.

since when are the games compatible? I missed something, last I saw the GH drums had the high hats which RB does not have therefore they can't be compatible

EDIT: Is this for all systems, or only compatible on 360?

It was just announced a couple days ago. They are reformatting the GH to work on RB drums.

http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/07/xbox-rock-band.html

After actually looking at the article is it only compatible for the Xbox 360 version? Anyone know?

While I'm still going to remain loyal to RB and RB2, Song for the Dead is freaking awesome.

I don't think Activision "gets" what these games are about.

I dig a lot of the songs, but so many of them are not good for playing in a fake band. It's like they stuck to their Guitar Hero mentality and didn't focus on songs that are fun in a band/party setting.

Anyway, this isn't confirmed yet, so we'll see.

Wow good set list. I still like RB2 a little bit better but this is good enough that I'll probably break my promise to myself not to buy another GH game. Only if it is compatible though.

I wouldn't mind the boss battles if they didn't include those stupid attacks. A straight one-on-one battle would be kind of neat.

Boss battles are now straight point battles with no attacks.

I don't mind... I'll take GH for the challenge, and Rock Band for 5 starring songs on expert when I'm wasted.

Looks nice... some crap, but tons of good stuff too.

From what I've read GH4 is also going to take the Wii seriously, unlike Rock Band (crippled version 6 months late FTL), so I think I'm definitely picking this up if this is the true list.

Obviously there is a chance that they don't the list revealed yet and are just denying it for that reason, but keep your excitement in check until an official announcement is made.
